TheTongue.net review scores are based on the following formula:

Final = (Quality*2 + Updates*2 + Exclusive*1 + Interface*1 + Support*0.5 + Unique*0.5 + Taste*3)/10

That means each of the seven aspects of a site we believe are important are graded and then weighted differently with the sum of those grades serving as the final score.

Found a website you are thinking of buying but are not quite sure? Let us know which one!! TheTongue can save you money by finding out all the information you want to know. Suggested websites will be given priority in our review queue which will allow you to see if a particular site is worth your money before you open up your wallet.

One of the most important parts of TheTongue is your ability to post comments on each and every review. If you disagree with a review, don't find a review helpful, agree with a review or think a review is really entertaining go ahead and post your thoughts as a comment on the review! Since all our members can comment on our reviews you can always be sure we are an impartial source or accurate information about the sites you are looking into.

Whenever you read a review here on TheTongue you will see a link at the top right corner of the review asking if you would like to "Tag This Review." By clicking that link you will add the review to your own private list which can be found in the My Tongue section of our site. This way as you browse through the reviews you can tag several of your favorites and then go back and look them over in an easy to find list whenever you are ready to buy a site.

Cross Sales: Some websites give you the option on their join pages to purchase other porn sites as part of a package deal. Some sites show these offers in obvious ways and leave the check boxes "unchecked", others are more elusive and "precheck" the boxes which you need to uncheck manually if you are not interested in buying the multi-site package.

When you join ANY porn site it's very important that you read the "Join Page" carefully. By law all charges MUST be printed there but they do not all have to be printed in the same size text or in the same way. DRM: An encoded script embedded into files that causes them to actively check back with their originator before displaying any image, sound or video. Adult sites sometimes use DRM technology to make all of the files a member downloads become inoperable when that member cancels their account. TheTongue strongly believes DRM technology is an unfair and greedy thing for producers to use. Whenever as site uses DRM code we will let you know in our review.
